To keep the animals happy on the Ark, Noah asks them to take turns telling a story every night. Noah introduces the stories and sometimes one or two of the audience chip in and get rather noisy as the mongoose tells how he defeated the mighty King Cobra, the two ocelots squabble with each other, the porcupine tells how he got his spikes and the wolf tells the story of the three little pigs as it really happened. The forty newly-commissioned stories are written down by eight popular children's writers - Lucy Coats, Alan Durant, Vivian French, Adele Geras, Michael Lawrence, Jenny Nimmo, Jeremy Strong and Jean Ure. They are funny, quirky, mysterious and magical - just right to read aloud and share with young children.
