This text aims to provide a clear and accessible coverage of the syllabus content for GCSE level examinations in psychology, as well as an introduction to the subject for students taking other courses. This second edition aims to be particularly interactive and proactive. The book is organized into sections on nature and nurture, physiological psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology and methodology. Topics such as cross-cultural socialization, memory, thinking and stress, not traditionally encountered at this level, are also introduced. A final methodology chapter examines issues arising from the content. Two new chapters are included in this edition, dealing with: motivation as a complex, multifaceted issue; and psychometrics, covering occupational and intelligence testing.
