This important book was the first to draw together into one accessible volume cases, statutes, articles, committee reports, reform proposals, and other materials on medical law and ethics. It contained an extensive commentary and included particularly helpful material from the USA, Canada, and Australia, as well as a wide range of UK materials. The second edition develops this format. All aspects of the subject are covered and are arranged in three main divisions - the doctor/patient relationship, medical law and ethics in action and mechanisms for regulation of medical practice. The updated text includes a discussion of the implications of the Human Fertilization and Embryology Act 1990.
