I think out of all the books in the Throne of Glass series this was the one that made me tear up the most.Just when you think the plot can't get any thicker Aelin goes and takes herself out of the picture having set the endgame in motion. It was rather cleverly done if i do say so myself. I really did enjoy this despite the sads.I read this via paperback.

As with the previous books, this one starts off at a great pace. We learn more about the characters and the world building, scheming and romance really heats up. I said in my review of the previous book in the series that “Manon really comes into the forefront and Chaol really fades back” - well this is even more true of this book. Manon is becoming my favourite character although not enough for me to forgive how she loses her essence around Dorian. As a dog lover, I think that Manon’s relationship with Abraxos is wonderful, he’s kinda like a big dog…but deadly…and with wings. We learn more about the other characters in this book which is nice but I found myself a bit lost with who was who and how and why they are a king/queen or why they are in debt with so and so. The replays from history helped but I’m s... More

I have been following these stories over the years and they're no doubt my favourite fantasy books. There's magic, feuds, love and honour...what more could you ask for?

Haven't expected that this part of the series will make me sob as a little kid. I hate what author does, all the plot cliffhanger and stuff that leaves you with such an heart pain and love for this books and series

This series started off with a lot of promise. However, on book 5 of 7 I definitely feel it's run out of steam. The series is really two books too long and, although I'd like to find out how it ends, I'm honestly not sure if I can be bothered. Here are some of the reasons: the writing is getting progressively more monotonous - the only expression of anger used is 'snarling', for example. I feel if I read the word 'snarled' one more time I shall scream. There's way too much sex which simply fills pages without moving the story on in any way. There are too many people losing their temper all the time. There are a lot of unspoken references to things that I'm clearly too dumb to pick up on - and I've read Kafka. Please, just stop already!

My mum is reading the series, books are in perfect condition despite being second hand. This company is really good I've ordered at least 18 books from them

Best one yet! The way SJM weaves everything together is mind boggling. I really loved reading about Elide and can't wait to get stuck into the next one. I'm so glad I didn't discover this series until all the books had been published, it would have killed me having to wait!

Maybe it's just me, but when I start at book 1 and continue to read books in order I do not expect there to be large chunks of the book that make reference to incidents that happened in novellas that are outside of the main series. TBH I got extremely frustrated and found myself wondering if I was getting forgetful when the characters turned up that we were supposed to know and quite a bit of time was spent reminiscing on things that I had no recollection of reading. On further investigation it seems that the author assumes you've read the novellas, where as I had no idea about them. All in all this book therefore left me feeling irritated and dissatisfied.
