She survived her first year at Basgiath War College . . . but the danger is only beginning.

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College, Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky.

Now the real training begins, and Violet's already wondering how she'll get through. It's not just that it's grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it's designed to stretch the riders' capacity for pain beyond endurance. It's the new vice commandant, who's made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is - unless she betrays the man she loves.

Although Violet's body might be weaker and frailer than everyone else's, she still has her wits and a will of iron. And leadership is forgetting the most important lesson Basgiath has taught her: Dragon riders make their own rules.

But a determination to survive won't be enough this year.

Because Violet knows the real secret hidden for centuries at Basgiath War College - and nothing, not even dragon fire, may be enough to save them in the end.

OMFG!!! I thought fourth wing was good. This book has me speechless. I've never read anything that has me in such a roller coaster of emotions quite like this.I was jumping from my seat, I was screaming with anger, I was a little turned on and then I cried so hard I had to call my mum an tell her I loved her.I won't put spoilers in my review because you just have to read it.Rebecca Yarros, you are my hero.

Just an absolutely fantastic read. Twists and turns and of course dragons. I love the grumpiness or Tairn and that Adarnana is finding her sass. Loved it. 5 stars is not enough. I couldn't put the book down. Rebecca Varros is a seriously brillliant writer. Bring on the next installment.

Wonderfully written and beautifully worked world with dragons, power, good and evil. Of course all is nuanced. Can’t wait for the third episode. Has to be one, can’t end here.

The picture showed sprayed edges with flames! The book was sent with no sprayed edges. After it was dispatched the picture for the listing changed to white pages. This is such a disappointment as i was expecting to receive a sprayed edge.

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros 📕💫 “Can you carry a luminary?” “That question insults me.” “Can you carry a luminary while insulted?” She prods.Violet is now in her second year at Basgiath War Collage. Now the real training begins. The new vice commandant has it in for Violet and has made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is. However, Violet is determined to survive this year.My Review: 📖What an amazing sequel to ‘Fourth Wing’.This book really kept me on my toes! Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was completely surprised!Xaden leaving and going to ‘work’ whilst Violet stayed at ‘school’ - I kept thinking why is she not as worried or concerned by him leaving? Why does she not seem to miss him, because I missed him?! That was one of the many things that... More

I bought this because it was showing as having a flame pattern as sprayed edges. I already have a normal copy and only purchased this for that reason. Ick.

The book didn’t come with the black edges. Just normal white pages. Sent back and waiting for refund

Although not as good as the first book I did love reading this book. Slightly predictable towards the end with the main cliffhanger but nevertheless I can’t wait for the next book

I read forth wing in a day it was that good, I couldn’t put it down, the iron flame however just didn’t grab me as much. It took me a good four days reading on and off which for me is slow even with a book this thick. I felt I had to put it down and have a break it just was just missing something. Obviously pretty much everyone fell for Xaden in the first book, and that continues into the second for me, which is why I think I found myself rolling my eyes at Violet when she was moaning at him about keeping secrets and not being 100% honest - whilst not actually really asking him anything and forgetting even though they are together, work wise he out ranks her so obviously there’s stuff he can’t go into. But that aside once I’d finished this book I did like it, I wasn’t overwhelmed by the ending like I was in the first one - I liter...
