This has been on my TBR for so long it’s embarrassing. My Insta and tiktok are so full of quotes and fanart it’s unreal. I thought I was hooked from that alone but once I actually red the book… woo boy I fell hard!I absolutely loved the Eragon movie as a kid (yes I know it was a book first but I haven’t read it yet). Anyways if you’re the same as me and you were completely obsessed and wanted to be a dragon rider then you need to read this immediately!Though I had spoilers from social media, through no fault but my own, I still loved how the story came together and enjoyed seeing the journey reach its outcome.However what I did not love is what happens in chapter 36, if you know you know. Rebecca Yarros I don’t think I can forgive your for this. However I do find that the best books are the ones that leave you a little broken and a bit snotty.My goodness theses scenes between Xaden Violet have me feeling like I need to repent, they are pure sin. Now some dark romance fans will probably see them as mild but for me they are the perfect amount of spice *chefs kiss*. If a book doesn’t have spice then I don’t want it and this book is so well written and the whole plot has me so enthralled that it could have 0 spice and I would not be able to put it down. The spice is the cherry on top to this yummy sundae of a book.I’ve seen a few readers compare Dian and Xaden to Tamlin and Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses. While to a degree I can see why they have come to this conclusion I must say I feel that Dain is the Gale Hawthorne of Fourth Wing. But that is only my perception.Book 2 Iron Flame is out now and I can not wait to read it, especially after that big surprise at the end of the first book! I’m currently contemplating using a sick day to read the new release 👀😁1000/10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Fourth Wing is like a drug, so highly addictive you will stop at nothing to get more and make every possible excuses to be able to pick it up again.It has been a long time since I have laughed, cried so ugly and had such a delicious book hangover like this.The cons: I want more... but I have to work tomorrow.

I was really excited when I came across this book because it seemed to have everything I love: fantasy, romance, deadly competition and dragons. I`m an avid reader, I read a LOT and even though I`m 31 I enjoy reading YA so my problems are definitely not with the genre.To start off with some positives; I think the world the author created is great, the concept is exciting and overall the storyline is action-packed and gripping. However, the whole time I was reading I got a feeling that I`m reading a movie script, rather than a book. You don`t get to know the characters properly, the inner monologues are short or don`t give you as much background as I`m used to from other books. What. A. Book. This is my favourite book of 2023 so far. The world building, story telling, character building. All of it was amazing!I have living-eating-breathing this book. Like you know when you were a kid and you became obsessed with a show, then you just wanted everything to do with it and be that character. That’s me with this!I don’t even want to give a brief synopsis because you don’t need it. It has magic, dragons, spice, emotion everything you could want. Just perfect.

I don't even know where to start with this book. I have been reading for years and this is the first story in an exceptionally long time that has dominated my mind for long after I have finished reading. The world building was phenomenal. The character building and depth of the characters immerse you completely into the story so it feels like you are there yourself. I laughed, cried and raged alongside all the characters. The spicy scenes were used appropriately and really showed the depth of emtion the characters felt for each other. Which was refreshinf for me as i have noticed in a lot of fantasy these days the scenes are just thrown in every whip and flip and sometimes over used without just for the sake of it. If you love enemies to lovers, surprise twists, and let's not forget the dragons 😍 this book is for you.

I really enjoyed reading this book (multiple times) and the number of different editions I own stands testimony to that.It has everything : adrenaline-filled scenes, likeable characters, magic, dragons (so, so many dragons :D ), soul ripping moments (could have done with a few less), ¨romance¨ (a bit too detailed and coarse for my taste, but it sells book and I will not be the one to change our society's mentality).Although, just like with so many other books, it is hard not to spot the influence of TOG and ACOTAR, from the characters to some of the events, Fourth Wing it's in a league of its own. There wasn't a single moment where I struggled to read, I was completely and utterly swept of my feet and thrust into its world.It made me laugh, it made me cry (again, could have done with less tear-jerking scenes)... Really really can’t describe how great this book is. Loved the world building, loved the characters, loved the whole premise of magic and dragons linked. Loved the growth of Violet, loved that she broke Xaden down by being so unexpected. Cried in parts, hated the hangover that’s coming, but would not miss it for the world. Can’t wait for the next one. Can’t praise it enough. I read incessantly, and this is as good as SJM ACOTAR, TOG CC and Laurie Forrest The Black Witch Chronicles. But with just as vicious hangovers. Swore I wasn’t going to read another unfinished series, but I don’t regret it it’s simply an incredible book.
