Haring's work resonated with people of all ages and beliefs. The 'radiant baby' and 'family dog' were recurring themes in his art and he drew both motifs in many incarnations; babies radiant with halo and wings, babies sitting on their father's shoulders, or cradled in their mother's arms. Throughout his too-short life Haring had a special affinity for children. He had many loving relationships with the children of friends and found great rewards in the art projects he frequently did with schoolchildren.
