Timeless lessons on wealth, greed, and happiness doing well with money isnÕt necessarily about what you know. ItÕs about how you behave. And behavior is hard to teach, even to really smart people. How to manage money, invest it, and make business decisions are typically considered to involve a lot of mathematical calculations, where data and formulae tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world, people donÕt make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In the psychology of money, the author shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money and teaches you how to make better sense of one of lifeÕs most important matters. This book will change your attitude and behaviour towards money for the better. Opened my mind to a completely new way of thinking and investing - cannot recommend enough.

I liked that the book has several chapters structured in a way such that each one can be read independently. Each one has a little story and you always want to know more, want to know what happened. At the end of the day, the lessons are in line with what you would expect from a book in personal finance, but the delivery of those lessons is exceptional. It shouldn't be the only book you read on the topic as it doesn't go in depth about the specifics, but the upside is that it remains enjoyable throughout.

High reviews on Goodread led me to buy this book. however, this book is so simplistic and arguments are derived. You can benefit from the author's Blog where he writes briefly about all that you can find in his book. so dont waste your money.

A lot of common sense that is easily forgotten. The chapters are short and effective. In all, a very well written personal finance book.

I've seen this book recommended everywhere and put off buying because you know another book on money.. but its such a great book, easy to read and one of the only books that I have read that doesn't just spout out saving is for losers it refreshingly does the opposite, great book

Almost every single investing book I have read focuses on how to analyse a company but this book is different. The Psychology of Money attempts to address the most important factor responsible for the performance of the investor BEHAVIOUR.Housel covers so many different topics that personally I feel you could develop a Masters course to do justice to the themes he discusses. The most important point I feel Housel advocates on for successful investing is longevity. Housel shows that even with mediocre return through longevity the average investor with small amounts of cash can do fairly well because compounding is dependent on time. Housel also subtly highlights the success and failure of an investor depends on their lifestyle.Again Housel in a fairly esoterically fashion shows that through different... More
